.. so note to self, never leave illustrations till the last minute thinking you can just 'bash' them out.. defiantly isn't the case!

Currently working on my 4th final one with 2 'up in the air, undecided ones'! These are a lot like hard work but i can see myself improving the more hours i spend looking at the screen!!



Complete focus on the eye as desired to get the rich tones of colour concept through to the viewer/ reader.





The blatant coloured mixture on the background softens down as the bold brash tones of colour come through at the shoes creating a colour rich illustration.






Very block and full illustration created by full blocks and shapes. Creates a very contemporary feel.

Contemporary Design/ Silhouette

After researching contemporary designers, I have compiled many designs which reflect this contemporary feel. With this information I have created a series of silhouette shapes which reflect this similar feeling.






Here is an example of the silhouettes created using garment designs of contemporary designers.

Hidden Gem

While browsing through an old Collezioni (Spring/Summer 04), i came across a FABULOUS designer, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.. this is an unfamiliar designer to me and when looking at the past and current collections i could really feel the contemporary look in some of the garments. This designer really relates to my theme in not only the contemporary style, but also colour wise with the strong use of colour.

Here the sense of fresh, quirky style is seen with the bland shapes which are styled together...

Silhouettes

So after hours and hours spend creating silhouettes relating to my starting point of Burano, it has become apparent that the designer research doesn't link in as well as it could. Therefore I am researching more designers of a more contemporary style to create much stronger links to my work.

After looking at this silhouettes with a more contemporary head on, I can now see that the garments i chose do not link to my contemporary theme as i need a more fesh edgy look rather than an older longer length silhouette! MUST KEEP SHORT AND FRESH IN MIND!!

Burano

So I never knew Burano was such a beautiful place! The houses are FAB! The colours of them are bright shades which create a really vibrant place to live and visit!!








These houses very much remind me of the Spring/ Summer 2011 collection by Missoni which was shown in Milan with the bright colours which are placed out into blocks across the garments.
